Fiat/ Hobby Siesta
Hi,
Here's Toni and Shirley. Sorry for my english as l'm not fluent in it.We are from Malta and just bought our first motorhome Hobby Siesta 770. I bought it from the UK last friday and drive it all the way to Malta. I really enjoy it. My question is this. While l was driving l have the fridge working (supposed) on the batteries. For my disappointing, the fridge wasn't work at all, but, while l was parked in the campsites on the 240v it works perfectly and even on gas. Can some one please tell me what is wrong with my fridge ?. Thanks in advance and hope l will hear from you.

Check
Fuse from 12volt battery power to fridge is ok
Make sure also the fridge is switched over to auto or 12v power and not 240v when driving

If fuses OK and power is getting to the fridge (multimeter needed) the 12v element could have burnt out and needs replacement.

Hi Toni and Shirley. Was the fridge chilled before you started driving? The operation when driving (12v) will only maintain the temperature so normal operation would be chill it down on gas or 240v first before driving. Ours warms up when driving because the 12v Element has failed so it is being replaced this week. In the meantime we use a freezer pack and put it in the top of the fridge while driving and stick it back in the freezer when not driving.

Check that you have the Red switch on, that’s the one for 12v when driving, Green one on for Electric.
