Hi all, I wonder if any of you can help with a fresh water issue I have in my motorhome.
At the end of every trip I always drop all my fresh water and totally drain the system.
We have just come away again so I topped up the water system as usual.
When I purged the water through the taps I made sure I got all the air out of the system.
On arrival at the site I noticed when I opened the taps the water was fizzing up like soda water!
And every time since, it has done the same thing.
The water is not spurting out as if there is air trapped, but it looks slightly milky and seems to fizz very briefly.
It points to possible air getting in the system but where do I start to look?
The water still tastes ok but could there be a long term problem if I can’t solve this issue?
Thanks to any who reply to my post.

I think you may have a leak on the suction side and are sucking in air.

Agree with above.
If you fill glass with water and leave to settle does it clear?
Check the little filter bowl just before the pump. They can get a non water leaking crack in them.

Run your taps a short time after you refill your tank. The chlorinated tap water should be enough to sort out any bacteria that has started to multiply in your water pipes. You will then in all probability see the tap water stop fizzing and start to run clear. Have you noticed a slightly eggy smell when you first run your taps?

It may be time to treat your tank and pipe work to a dose of Puriclense (sp) other water treatments are available.

I noticed that you say it still TASTES o/k, Personally I NEVER drink the water from the stored tank, fresh filled or travelled.
What do other Funster think about the tummy bugs etc when drinking tank water.
I would not even clean my teeth with the tank water.

We drain after every trip and refill with about 100 litres of tap water. We don't generally drink from the tank but do use it for tooth brushing and the kettle. We have never used a tank disinfectant as I think the chlorine in the tap water will do it for us. If we did drink from the tank I would be really surprised given the chlorine in the water and huge dilution effect if we suffered any ill effects.

All the white is air leave to stand for a minute and it will clear we have that at home sometimes we always drink from the tank never had any ill effects as The Wino said chlorine should kill the bugs but most of the water is boiled anyway and have done it for 20 plus years

been drinking from the moho tank for as long as I can remember.. I clean the system once a year with Puriclean.. the van is used all year round so never has any standing water to go bad..

tap water has chlorine in it so it kills any bacteria in the system..

I guess we should be dead by now .🧟‍♀️

Have always drunk from the tank.

In the good old days of gravity fed, household water systems, we had a cold water tank in the loft - cant see any difference to a campervan water tank?
