For years!
After more than 30 years, this is a first for me. Basically without warning water simply pours back out of my fresh water inlet. I have drained the fresh water tank and tried again but water still spews out of the inlet and no water reaches the storage tank. The van is still under warranty so I have booked it in……. but a month away. I would be very grateful if someone suggested an easy solution which would let me get on the road again sooner. Thanks in anticipation.

Odd one, sounds like the filler pipe has been blocked by something.
If it's under warranty it's probably best to let the dealership resolve the problem

At first I thought an airlock, that’s not allowing it to be filled, but then that would disappear when the water filler is removed.

Soooooo, must be a blockage or an internal collapsed pipe, which could also be an airlock caused a vacuum. Or mice, which is way off, but needs ruling out.

Is there a drain tap and have you tried to put water in, with it open, plus run the water pump at the same time.

Lastly, has a pipe come off and you’re actually filling a void in the van.

Good luck 🍀

Have you ever had a successful fill or is this the first time you've tried?

Is either the water inlet or maybe the breather is blocked?

Have you tried pushing a hosepipe in the filler pipe until it would be in the tank itself?
I will have a go at gently inserting a hose pipe but I was concerned there might be a valve somewher after the inlet

Remove any hose attachments first so it is just bare hose. Remove any possibility of leaving a bit of fitting in there!
Get an inexpensive flexi camera and have a look ? Sorry , don’t know why links not working - USB endoscope camera about £15 - 20

Yes, this happened without warning!
Then I would go with Riverbankannie's suggestion and get an endoscope to check the pipe. It will tell you if it is blocked or disconnected. In the meantime I would gently inset a hosepipe and measure how far in it will go to get some additional info. If you get several feet then it might mean the pipe has come loose going into the tank. If you only get a few inches it might mean someone played a prank on you and put a squishy ball in.

Hope you get it sorted. Wouldn’t be the first time a dislodged fitting from the end of a hose has caused a blockage. It may only have formed a complete block recently 🤔

Checked again .. it seems that the blockage is just short of a metre into the tube….. a dealer warranty job!
