French Tourist Visa

Can anyone offer any info on potential timescale, whether you can apply for a visa to start on a date in the future (say 3 months) and whether you can apply whilst in France on normal Schengen entitlement (as you can in Sweden for instance).

Any guidance from those who have been through the procedure will be gratefully received.

6 months long visa in France!

Has anyone used a six month visa in France yet? If so what did you do at the end of it - particularly regarding the 90 day Shengan rules?! Can you then cross into Switzerland, getting passport border stamp? Where can I find the official regulations? My son has just been given a 6 month visa no...

I would not think you could apply from another country if on holiday. As your would be required to hand over your passport for the visa to be applied. Rendering yourself without identification.
