Having done a search on this forum, but not found what I am looking for, are there any Freeview HD Recorders out there, which beats this one.................

A few hours of research indicates that this is the one, due to others (even of the same brand), not being compatible with ITV X.

Although mainly for home use with a roof antenna/ariel, (as well as WiFi), it can be taken away and used in the MH as a hard drive, and operated off a 12v supply.

Does anyone use, or know of anything better out there, which meets (or betters), the spec of the Humax Aura unit above?

TIA,

Jock. :)

That STB used to work with the old ITV app. It’d be a bit rough if ITV updates broke that.

What HIFI say of this STB:
While the Aura is spot on for sound, opting for the cheaper but still brilliant Humax FVP-5000T and buying a Google Chromecast with Google TV as well is a better option in terms of overall performance.
A link to other similar STB at What HIFI: https://www.whathifi.com/awards/best-set-top-boxes-2020

I’ve liked HUMAX products in the past but I’ve no user experience of the newer products.

BTW, the one I linked to is ITVX compatible. (y)

Jock. :)

Ours is a BT one, but a few years old now. Seems to work ok inc with itv x when itvx is working properly. As far as i can tell from lots of posts, not related to Freeview, ITV x is just bad news.

Unlock the full potential of the 5000T once it’s connected to the internet. Catch up on shows you’ve missed via the TV Guide or access them anytime On Demand. Or perhaps binge on your favourite content courtesy of YouTube and Netflix.

Please note that ITV X is not compatible with this product due to changes made by ITV.

Not for us thanks.

Thanks for the reply.

You are not wrong, as found using a Firestick. :(

Jock, contact the company at the link above and see if they can offer what you're looking for? I have used them in the past and they have been pretty good in helping me. They can add 'stuff' to receivers they sell and might be able to help you.
