France, Spain & Portugal

How did you know that is my nick name ? 😁

We arrived at Malaga last evening, we did look at the aire that Helen Aerial suggested but it didnt look quite big enough for our our van with all the other cars there ( we were probably looking in the wrong place ) so we are on the beach as suggested by Sillious Sodus lots of space there and perfect for the dog too. Before we parked up we popped round to the aire near to the Carrefour to empty & re fill there was only one van in front & he was just finishing, so didnt wait around long which is surprising when you see how many vans were parked up, I have never seen so many in one place !

We cycled into the centre today ( T shirt weather ! ) with Marley ( the dog ) on tow probably took 25 minutes. We were surprised at how nice the city is there is a lot of very old architecture some areas dating back to Roman times, lots of museums too if your into that sort of thing. we are more into coffee shops & Tapas bars, which didnt disappoint. Heres a couple of pics but they do not do the place justice.

The aire by carrefour is the one I suggested! Though apparently it's being closed down next week according to another thread on here due to being to busy! I don't know why they don't just regulate the numbers and length of stay. Are you staying in Málaga long as the article suggested all the unauthorised sites are going to be shut down 😭

We got the AHC certificate from Abbeywell Vets at Folkestone and going through the Pet check area at the tunnel was a pleasent experience, very helpfull & friendly.
How long did it take to get the AHC or is it an online thing and then you just collect it?

You do apply online for the AHC and they suggest it takes about a week to by the time they have contacted you and completed it. We was getting a bit anxious as it was just after Macron opened the border so things were a little busy so we did phone them at Abbey well vets which is the same vet but they do not advertise a number for the "animal health check online" service.

We have traveled with our current dog and the previous one and it is not really any harder just the paperwork side of from the vets, not anything to worry about.

We have today arrived at jolly ol Marbella, had a nice walk down the promenade, it has such a lovely feel to the place. We have been so lucky with the weather since we left last sunday from Folkestone we have only had 10 minutes of rain ! I know what your thinking, the sun shines on the righteous :p

Neither would I, just hanging around there with no-one to talk to must be bl**dy boring + when you want a pee, you have to hope the winds not blowing when you point it toward that open window? (what IS he doing?)

Just as we had walked past he started jet washing the paint ! Or perhaps he was peeing !

Where are you staying? Is it busy down there? Considering visiting, next month, when we go on our tour of Spain.

It is not bad busy wise, its buzy but not heaving so nice. (y)

We popped into Seville, one of our favourite cities, it never disappoints. We parked up on the waste ground , there must of been 50 other vans there, but there was a drunk acting up, we were in bed next thing I Hurd a thump and he walked our mirror in, then the other one, I was fuming I was scrabbling trying to find clothes to put on, by the time I got out there the police had him and put him in their car, he was kicking the window so hard Im amazed it didn't break. After a while they let him go ! So we moved to the Aire, it was only about 15mu minutes extra walk, has loos, shower etc too. Great time in Seville over all.

Can I ask why you didn't stop on the Aire initially, and as it sounds good, where is it please? Have fun! :giggle:

We have stayed on the waste ground for 3 years before without incident, and it is closer to the centre.

These are the coordinated for the Aire, it is still walkable into the centre, we may we'll stay there next time.

Thanks we still have only had about 20 minutes of rain since leaving Folkestone two and a half weeks ago !

We used the aire. nothing flash but peace of mind for a few euros is priceless when leaving the van unattended for hours in a city.

Absolutely, it's nice to have the loo, showers and even a coffee machine.
