But it will only apply to amber. France is not amber but shades of amber, amber + , not completly reddish. so until they become amber quarantine will still apply for all.Maybe best to hang on based on this?
Covid: No quarantine for fully jabbed US and EU travellers
Ministers hope the rule change in England, Scotland and Wales will help reunite family and friends.www.bbc.co.uk

Looks like a change to France rules next week hopefully as currently it stops ay EU person coming over unless they fly. I guess they have more control over Airlines than Ferry operators or ET?But it says EU citizen so unlikely to single France out?
No, not at all! If there is one thing I do know it's how much confusion and misunderstanding there is amongst Funsters and others about the entry and exit rules for entering and leaving uk/ E.U.Maybe best to hang on based on this?

You mean like trying to use a free NHS test instead of a paid for one to get into FranceNo, not at all! If there is one thing I do know it's how much confusion and misunderstanding there is amongst Funsters and others about the entry and exit rules for entering and leaving uk/ E.U.
I put this down to misinterpretation of rules and media speculation about what might be
The correct information is on the UK Government website and this is what I use and will continue to use. Its the way it is, all this confusion and misunderstanding will continue whilst people fail to go to the correct source for their information.
France is amber+ at the moment you cannot enter the Uk from it by air or sea, without day2&8 + quarantine, even if travelling through without stopping. But it says EU citizen so unlikely to single France out?
If France goes back to amber then the new rules for fully vaccinated will apply.Looks like a change to France rules next week hopefully as currently it stops ay EU person coming over unless they fly. I guess they have more control over Airlines than Ferry operators or ET?

Ha! Ha! Nothing of French Goverment website about NHS Antigen test not being acceptable. At least I was willing to test the system as apposed to just staying in the UK preaching the gospel. Who dares wins Rodders! Who dares wins! You mean like trying to use a free NHS test instead of a paid for one to get into France
Hoping another 4 weeks and we will be there too.Ha! Ha! Nothing of French Goverment website about NHS Antigen test not being acceptable. At least I was willing to test the system as apposed to just staying in the UK preaching the gospel. Who dares wins Rodders! Who dares wins!
Your reply reminds me of a song 'Wishing and Hoping' by Dusty Sprinhfield ?Hoping another 4 weeks and we will be there too.
It would be better if they done the dishes after the mealOh you lucky man! Great place, fresh fish and seafood, your loved one and the people around who you want to be there. Life is good huh?!
Santander zero card Phil. Its a credit card so no good for bread but I use it for everything I can these days, commercial rate and no withdrawal fee. I also have a 123 debit card which seems to allow me to withdraw from santander machines in Spain at decent rates and no fee, although its crap everywhere else.Although Im still getting the odd little stomach cramp from my recent bout off food poisoning. The bottom hatch is secure and I'm up and about and generally feeling much better and so I have some more info for you. BANK CHARGES
On our previous trips to Spain and prior to Brexit we noticed that some banks had started to add a transaction fee for withdrawing cash from a hole in the wall and whilst our card provider (Caxton)(Please, please, please, let's not turn this into a card debate!!)). told us it would not charge us for making a cash withdrawal it had no control over any charges the issuing bank wanted to make. So, although I have only made a few cash withdrawals, I can inform you Santander wanted to charge me 7 euros to withdraw cash, BBVA wanted 6 euros ING wanted 3.95. It did not matter how much was going to be withdrawn, it was a fixed charge regardless. Today I found a bank in Fisterria that only charged me 0.89 cents and that was Abanca. Its my judgement that very soon, if not now all banks will make a charge to withdraw money and the cost will increase year on year to the point that its no longer affordable to use cash. Anyway a nice walk into the town and was informed by fish monger if I want fresh sardines tomorrow I need to be at his door for 9 am as they will all be gone by 10.00 . Looks like an early rise for Mena.View attachment 520381View attachment 520382
The one in Lery on the FLT route through Rouen was good, walk in service, results in about 20 minutes 25 euros each, one of the girls spoke a few words of english, but ask for "covid test pour voyager"Thanks for that! I spoke with a Farmacy in Calais this morning and the guy had good English said he would give us both an antigen test and it would be free. I pointed out it needed to be one with accompanying documentation that would meet UK Border police entry requirements and he said yes that would also be included. I have read two different accounts on websites where one is saying France will not charge summer tourists fees for testing and anouthrr which says they cost around 29 euros, so need to sort that one out before we get tested. I'm still recovering from my food poisoning bout, bugger. Now on some over the counter medicine which should help get me back to 100%.
And numbers are coming down.....But it says EU citizen so unlikely to single France out?
Thanks for this Jon, is it possible to be a little more precise with location ? I have looked on google maps but no joy!
