France is closed!

Been on before I know, but this clip explains it all IMHO, Please don't look if you are easily offended, F word & C bomb,s are used for dramatic effect, but it just about sums up the French work ethic for me.:giggle:
LES

Is there another France that I don't know about? I know all about the "comedy effect", but this is typical Island Nation bias! Always found the French to be great.

We went to France 22nd May and after a 4 week tour including Provence we returned home 19th June, every site we visited that had a pool they were open, every site that had a restaurant was open and with the great weather (too hot for us) everyone made full use of them. Very surprised to hear others found them all closed!!!!

I’m in the Le Mans area and have been here for a month around Tours, Saint Nazaire and the Normandy beaches and haven’t found anything closed. We we’re in a free aire the other night and I counted over 25 vans with a fair smattering of UK ones.

Been in France for a month now. All sites seem to be open with the usual seasonal closures which all lift this coming weekend. Sites very busy where we are on the West and we have found it necessary to book ahead as we go which we have never done before. The Brits have arrived and it feels as if the French are staycationing. Been very odd at the washing up sinks as until we arrived at Bayeux no

We've just about completed a 4 week tour of South France and Northern Spain and found all sites open and running as per usual. Can't understand how you found it closed!!

I must admit a lot of the towns are “closed”. Tried to find a doc in Bayeux this week and told no docs in town need to go to pharmacy or hospital. So no different to most of UK!

They are not short of seasonal worker which our farmers are and why some are ploughing crops back into the fields.
Thay are actually. And they have a lorry driver shortage and their inflation rates are rising steadily. Yes Bre*it has affected everyone but not as much as covid and now the Russian threat

Been in France 3 weeks now Normandy to Loire now west coast everywhere seems open except a restaurant i wanted to go to in La Rochelle which doesn't open on Sundays

Staying on expensive 5* campsite at Collioure.

2 bars on site - both closed this evening. I rest my case!

France closes on Sundays (shops anyway). I think that's great. France feels like UK used to be 50 years ago. We don't need everything to be open all the time!!

Just got back from 3 weeks in France. No problem finding what we needed open.
Use to like Germany when all shops closed from 1:30 pm on Saturday through to Monday morning. Nowadays the food shops & bigger stores stay open on Saturday afternoon a lot of the smaller ones still close.

One site? When no one else seems to have had the problem, maybe they closed because you arrived? :Eeek: :LOL:
