Forest Fires in Portugal

Only just read the whole story,so so sorry to hear of your awful time.
We follow what’s happening on the PT news and we are returning to the Alentejo in January.
Hope your burns heal quickly and are able to return soon.
All the best for the future.

“Aljezur, Loulé, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira, Alcoutim and Castro Marim have all been placed on the second highest level of alert due to the prevaling weather conditions.

This comes as the Portuguese government has again extended the critical period of wild fires until 23 November.

This is the fourth occasion the period has been extended after originally being scheduled to culminate at the end of September.”

Been back in UK for Nigel's medical for his C1+E licence. All sorted. At the same time he has been having treatment on his burns as mentioned above. He has been in a lot of pain, couldn't walk. Today he has been putting his foot down, less painful. Thank goodness. On Monday the Doctor reluctantly agreed that he could fly. Have arranged airport assistance with a lift into and out of the plane. Our son is coming down to Portugal with us and will drive the motorhome back, if we feel the need to. We have an extra seat so that he can elevate his leg which is a really important healing tip. Attaching some photos, don't look if squeamish.

Another update - flight to Portugal Saturday was fine, had leg elevated along our three seats. Had airport assistance, brilliant service. Went to have dressings changed today. The difference from last week is amazing. See pictures. They reckon only a couple more times for dressing change. Redder one is from last week.
