Blimey. Are the injectors Denso by any chance (manufacturer)No but my Mark 8 transit has just needed 4 new fuel injectors at 20000 miles and 4 years old.
I don’t know. They were corroded due to rain water ingress.Blimey.Are the injectors Denso by any chance (manufacturer)
The turbo usually fails because the catalytic converter starts to block up & is only 6" from the turbo outlet. So you get increased back pressure ,increased heat & it eventually detonates.Has anyone else had injector and turbo problems with this motor.Recently had a new/not reconditioned one after total failure at 42,000 miles.
Yes, but if just one injector goes berserk, then it takes out the piston on that cylinder. No but my Mark 8 transit has just needed 4 new fuel injectors at 20000 miles and 4 years old.
I have now put a metal tray in to catch drips. I just used my windscreen wash a few times and looked to see if any water was getting in. The water in mine appears to be coming in around my near side wiper blade hole. My decision now is whether to leave the tray in all the time or just while my van is in storage.Yes the rainwater ingress is through the spare set of wiper motor holes(,they punch both lhdrive & rh drive holes ,use one lot leaving others to piss water over top of the engine when it runs down screen & behind the plastic scuttle tray. .
On my left hand drive the number one plug kept getting water in it mainly when I washed it as not much rain here & fortunately I use it every day so it doesn't settle. Took me a while to figure out where it was coming from. I just lifted the plastic tray & selaed both holes with silicon. that cured it
On my fwdrive it was the left hand No; 1 injector that was filling up

Mine had been changed before I bought it but problem wasn't fixed. It then started making noises so I had it rebuilt & the rebuilder said what it could be so I removed the down pipe with cat to the front exhaust box, slit the weld around the top after marking position of flange ,& many photos, knocked out the honeycomb core leaving an empty shell & rewelded the top back on.
It does not fail emissions because there is no test for the catalyst nor are there any sensors on the mark 7 without dpf's, so no faults thrown up.& it has passed every itv test (6monthly9 since being done-
**Just remembered another thing recommended on the transit forum is to change the turbo oil feed pipe. Why' it should be necessary God knows?
I didn't do it when turbo changed as the bottom pick up is behind the A/C pump & the serpentine belt & water pump belt all have to come off as does the electrical connection to the A/C pump & all bolts loosened to access the banjo bolt. Job on its own so I did it at a later date.**
Don't want to worry you but I carry a spare turbo now to ensure it won't happen again
I have to do the same with my 21plate Burstner / Ducato when its parked up . Currently waiting for CamperUK to fit a new scuttle panel. Hoping that sorts it.I have now put a metal tray in to catch drips. I just used my windscreen wash a few times and looked to see if any water was getting in.
