Should I be concerned about the injector issue on the Ford engine. We thought we had ironed out the spec that we hope suits ie. Benimar Tessoro 486, I had even got sights on one for sale at a more than reasonable price but didn`t get to view but I think I saw it bought and the new owner broke down on his way home with injector issue, phew!!!
Now when we look there are quite a few vans out there on the ford base.
Whats` peoples` thoughts and am I over thinking this

Whichever chassis and van you look at somebody will have a scare story about breaking down.

Known problems with recent Transits are:
Damage from wet belt failure - I read that Ford have massively reduced the service interval for a belt change. So if regularly serviced that should sort that problem.
Injector issues - I read that there have been injector problems in the Mk 8 2014>. It likely affects a narrow band of years re the Mk 8. I cannot comment further

Those are the headline problems known to me (I have a van built on a Mk7 Transit chassis and have neither problem but obviously study the form.)

Fiat Ducato were king among MH builders for years. But there were major problems obtaining their chassis to build vans throughout Covid and beyond and quite a few builders turned to Ford for at least some part of their range.

The Transit has more car like handling/suspension and cab. The Ducato has a much firmer suspension. Like for like Ford engines reputedly are quieter.

I have not kept track of Ducato known problems but in any event you ask about the Transit.
