Fon, any good.

I use BT Fon when my dongle is slow or if I have to down load anything large so I dont go over my limit, I think its OK, its a lot faster than my dongle,
I paid £15 for 5 days to be taken anytime in a year.:thumb:

We have a Fon Spot close to our house which my laptop picks up some time. It doesn't seem to be a strong signal & soon fades as you move away. On the other hand my dongle works all the time in the same area.
You are dependent on the Fon being on to access it & as BT say they cannot control that.
It may be useful in areas that have low coverage but I wouldn't consider it if i had to pay.
Better look for a McDonald's.

Who uses fon, is it worth joining, how do you find the coverage. Is it a genuine alternative to a dongle?
