Looking for somewhere to stay for a night prior to leshuttle departure , any recommendations much appreciated.

Would rather a campsite with toilet and shower rather than a layby .
Thanks in advance.

When I picked up our pet ahc from Folkestone vets prior to catching train to France we parked in Grimston avenue,I drove by it by chance and there was several campers parked up so I joined them for the night😎

no toilets or showers but for us canterbury park n ride is ideal why own a fully kitted van and limit your self to campsites there are toilets there during the day
why not , perhaps the OP prefers a nice shower with unlimited hot water in a decent sized cubicle instead using their onboard motorhome facilities which have there limitations

Thanks everyone for the feedback (y)
We stayed at blackhorse last year so we know the place but thought we'd ask about possible other options .
We're limited this year as we've left our bigger m/h at home and chosen to bring our little vdub (which doesnt have a shower) hence needing a proper site .

15 mins to get to the tunnel works for me as i'm permanently running late

camping and caravanning since a kid. New to motorhomes
Try The Doghouse Micropub and Vinyl Bar.
Overnight toilets.
Good beer and food and a fab welcome.

Only 3 vans allowed over weekend allowed but free.

We loved it.

Black Horse Farm CAMC has dedicated ferry pitches , you can leave at any time
15 mins from Tunnel
Avoid like the plague imo. Ferry pitches are located adjacent to a busy road and you’ll need ear plugs or plenty of alcohol to sleep through the noise. Also you’ll be disturbed by vans leaving early next day. It’s also a camc site!!

you must be a light sleeper and as for being disturbed by vans leaving early the next day be just like many of the aires in France where you often get motorhomes coming and going at different times .
And whilst it might be a CAMC site its convenient for the tunnel plus it has decent hot showers , a pub and convenience store across the road and good chippy and Tesco's within a mile

https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/markerMobile.php?id=33190. It's off the A20 about 3 miles from the new M20 J10A.

Not stayed there in the van as I live locally but Evegate has plenty of things going for it. They hold many events so be aware that at weekends there are lots of visitors. It's very popular with petrol heads and their cars.

I have friends that have stayed at the Valiant Sailor on the old A20 above Folkestone. It's also on S4S - https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/marker.php?id=31544

Wow steady tiger. The main point was being adjacent to a busy main road. Which is noisy when you’re on a ferry pitch. As I stated IMO so no need to make it personal. Each to his/her own.

Used to be able to stop in late entry park, so leave off site early ( probably still can).
Best check. 🙂

The secure truck stop ten mins from the dover port, or not too far from the tunnel £20 per night for a motorhome staffers 24 hrs cctv and security gates. Toilets showers cafe helpful staff.

Totally agree about Black Horse Farm…not a bad site but if you are on the ferry pitches, you are effectively sleeping at the side of a busy road. Expect cars, motorbikes and lorries until 2.00am, then maybe a little quieter until 5.00am before it all starts again.
