Hi All- had someone install a lithium battery upgrade at the weekend, including controller etc. However, since it was installed, my control panel.above the habitation door is having a few issues. Firstly, there's no electrical symbol showing when hooked up. Secondly, when retracting the step, the message pops up in the screen to say it's retracting but nothing happens. The pump makes a noise but doesn't actually pump and we have lost all lights (operated by the control panel).

Could it be that the control panel is not compatible? I've emailed Apuljack for advice, where I purchased the panel from last year. I have attached a pic of said panel plus the battery controller. Just wondered if anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks

Shouldn’t make a difference at all.

Have you checked all the fuses?

Might be worth contacting your installer, they may have isolated something to make the change and forgot to put it back.

As others have stated already the panel is 'dumb' and just reports voltages etc. There's nothing in there than can be 'lithium compatible' or otherwise.

The Victron MPPT and B2B are lithium compatible so there shouldn't be any issue there, assuming they've been configured correctly.

It does very much sound like it's not all been wired up properly by the installer. Something's been missed or forgotten, or as Googlebot suggested, a fuse or trip has gone.

I'd maybe check fuses, but would be getting the installer back to sort it as I'm confident it's something that's been omitted by them.

Was everything working correctly when you went through the 'hand over' with the installer?

The only differance Lithium will make to the panel is that it will nearly always show the battery is fully charged, as Lithium output a fairly constant voltage until almost flat.
Sounds like he has not reconnected something.

It doesn’t inspire confidence. I hope your installer disabled the split charge relay when installing the B2B.

Not wanting to digress and I can’t find what spare panel like yours I have got at home as we are away it was in classified adds but I can’t find it at the moment but will keep looking for the add although I doubt the problem is your panel

Firstly, there's no electrical symbol showing when hooked up.
Bit of a long shot as different van/electrics - when the onboard charger in our Elektrobloc failed we lost the mains hookup indicator on our panel. No idea if there could be similarity with your van, such as if you had installed a new after market lithium mains charger having bypassed/disabled the original onboard charger?

I don't have an electric step but I did have the charging setup changed to Victron smart mppt, B2B charger and ehu charger before I fitted the Fogstar Drift 300ah battery. I noticed that the light on the control panel no longer showed the you were attached to ehu. The fitters said that was normal and it would require an additional relay or something similar but I wasn't bothered to be honest as I'm rarely on hookup anyway and can see when the battery is charging via ehu on the victron app, so I left it as is. So I believe it's the Victron equipment that is causing your ehu indicator to not illuminate. Ps I have a different control panel to yours, this is similar:
