I have a 105 Drift battery.

Looking at higher capacity.

Should I....

Simply add another Drift?
Change to Underseat or similar ?

Any other brands recommended with the same quality and after sales as Fogstar ? Seems a lot of cheaper LifePo around

I’m also currently looking at fitting a Drift under the Ducato passenger seat. They have the ‘Seat Base’ 230Ah job but after measuring the space available - I already have 2x NDS GreenPower AGM sitting in there - it looks like the 300Ah models will fit with no problem lying on their side. Unless anyone knows better?

This is the one I’m thinking of getting - the Drift PRO 300Ah. On its side it just about squeezes in height wise, with clearance all round elsewhere.

Fogstar's name for their range of Leisure batteries, the have a Drift Eco, no Bluetooth or heater, The Drift with Bluetooth & heater and better cells & the Drift Pro metal case and even better cells & socket to fit an active balancer.

We have a 230 AH underseat battery specially made by Fogstar. It fits perfectly and it works extremely well. I would say it gets average use with a 2000 watt inverter.

I was just looking at how much the prices have fallen on other brands.

Then considering the backup and warranty with Fogstar, I think I will stick with them
You can mix brands and capacity just connect thru a bus bar so chargers etc see 1 big battery.

Fogstar are still one of the cheapest of the recognised brands, the ones that have dropped a lot in price are the dropped shipped ones with no UK backup.

I am looking at these. I think my carthago will only take the 230 under seat in the original battery box. I want a bit more power really but undecided if I should put a 230 in there and another elsewhere or just move the batteries to another location under the floor and have them together and closer to the main electrical centre.
I do like the look of the roamer batteries with the spec they have but cost a bit more!

Long run from the seat to the electrics in the garage you will need some big cables.
My batteries are midship and I used 70mm² and that was a bit on the small side.

What are the dimensions of the existing batteries/box under the seat? With the help of info from BouncyBoatFolk and comparing to my existing setup I’m now confident that the 300Ah Drift PRo will fit laid on its side.

The original box takes 2No gel batteries so is around 370 x 370 x 200 deep. Are fogstars ok laid on the side?
I’m reluctant to move too far rearward as want to keep rear axle load down.
I’m away in van this weekend so will try search out some alternative locations

Yes OK on the side, many of us have done it.

I have a 300ah Fogstar drift on its side under the drivers seat. One advantage is the terminals face forward and are accessible. Neatly supplied and fitted by VANBITZ. Capacity of the battery registers 309ah.
