I have ordered an Adria twin, just been told you only get one fob key and one standard. Is this the norm with camper vans. Thanks for any advice.

Possibly.. I only got one fob and one standard with my car (Fiat) so don't see why moho should be any different.

My gripe is that some motorhomes made in Germany provide two sets of keys, if you buy in Germany so I have been told. In the UK you get one 'special' key and a spare, both work the ignition.

Yes unfortunately true, we bough a Fiat Based German Van new in The UK, Only get one remote key fob, and a single plain key.
Its a con really, as its such a faff to get another one made, and yes it can cost £400, especially if you are like us and not on Faceache.
I know I could search for another option, but I cant be bothered now, especially as My German cars came with two remotes, plus one plain key.

You lost me completely now.....
The OP is referring to the number of keys supplied with a purchase, not about selling the van.

Got you now..... Key cutters are ON fb, not (as your post) key cutters are fb

Mobile auto key cutters are on facebook.
Cheaper and less hassle than sourcing elsewhere.
You can test the key before the key cutter goes.
Lots of free stuff on Classified. I wanted some 907 gas bottles so put a 'wanted' Advert on facebook
and was swamped with offers. I picked up 2 X 907 gas bottles locally for free and also a screw on 907 gas bottle gas hob.

You only get one key with the remote fob on Fiat's wherever you buy them.

We paid extra when new to get 2 keys with remote fob from Fiat, can’t remember the exact cost but less than £100 at the time. If bought afterwards it was multiple cost.

Auto locksmiths can cut and program an extra remote one
Lot cheaper than getting from Fiat dealer
Usually about £200 to £250

Years ago when my car was stolen I could only produce 1 key (I had owned the car from new) this caused no problem to the insurance claim. I was honest and told them that I had no idea where it was but it was in the house 'somewhere' the house was in Wales and the car was stolen from Dulwich. That was over 20 years ago have moved house since and still not found that spare key.

Weird as per my post two with he Hymer car and two with the replacement set from Fiat ( from a Fiat Dealer) so it may be something to do with how they are order in the first place maybe some manufactures (of MoHo’s) make savings in the base vehicle by only having one set.

One of each is fine as long as your insurer is aware.
First thing they want is BOTH keys if a theft claim is made
This is our experience from last year he insurance company wanted all the keys one of vehicles stolen had 3 sets which put the insurance company claim in to a tail spin for a few days demanding why I had the 3rd key cut! All I know is the vehicle was supplied with 3 keys and gave them all I had as per request, once they calmed down the claim was progressed so I agree insurance companies can get a bit demanding especially when it’s a largish or multiple claim.

Had 3 new Hymers, 2008, 2014 & 2017 all came with only one fob key. Last two I didn't bother with the central locking option still came with a fob key.

Maybe i'm just lucky but two fobs would seem reasonable as often two people or more in a household may drive the vehicle each keeping one on their key ring.

As I say the replacement locks from Fiat came with two Fobs so the question to the dealer is why only one?

SHMBO bought a delivery miles Toyota Aygo in early March 2020, we managed to pick it up on 22nd March, the day before lockdown. It had a central locking fob/key and a “stick it in the lock” type key, both with the electronic communication gizmo to ensure the car starts when inserted in the ignition. I asked the garage for another central locking fob/key, suggesting that a manufacturer of Toyota’s eminence was being petty and penny pinching, they finally agreed to supply one for nothing, persistency is everything! I also wanted a simple key that we could lock the car with and use in the ignition when we Toad the Aygo behind the MoHo, Toyota were stunned, “Never been asked for one of those before sir” Well they got their own back! £35! The key is on a carabiner on the MoHo main set of keys now so we don’t lose it!

Happy Days!

Am I right in thinking this issue seems to be Fiat relatated. As mentioned above my one key one fob was for a Fiat (2014) car. Any other make of car including my 2015 Movano has come with two fobs. Interesting!!
