Afternoon All. I'm not a fan of flat hoses in cassettes. They never seem to work properly - they kink out of sheer spite when in use and then refuse to fit back into the cassette just to add to your rage.

At least I wasn't a fan until I saw this version in use - it does actually appear to do what it says on the box. The trick is that it stays flat - not like the blue ones that inflate and stop co-operating.

Not cheap and not sure it's food grade but I thought I'd share it anyway.

It looks just like our Brenner hose which is blue and works very well, doesn’t swell up and goes back on the reel no problem :giggle:

Good quality expanding hose has been beat for us and a plastic tub to store it Iin.
Didn't get on with the roll up hose as has to be fully unwound even if you only need 6 feet.

Not the one in the OP, it can be used with any amount left on the reel.

I use the blue one and bin the reel 👍🏻
Likewise (y) off the reel and store in a bucket, and I cut the blue hose to have two shorter sections that can be joined, always unkinks itself when the water pressure hits it and drains nicely as it goes back flat.

How does/can that work when the hose is flat so basically closed ?

They aren't pancake flat, just flatter than a normal hose, inside are 3 small pipes which the water goes through which don't flatten so no restriction when the hose is on the reel unlike a standard flat hose which is just a single pipe that gets squished flat hence needing to be unrolled fully.

The only downside with the 3 pipe ones and expanding type, is that they do restrict the flow compared to a standard round hose so we've stuck with a good quality anti-kink garden hose.
