Hi Folks
Just looking for a bit of advice or any good ideas or tips regarding fixing two of our Remis blinds.
They detached from the drivers and sliding door within 6 mths of picking van up from Signature Motorhomes. We took it back for fixing. But they detached shortly afterwards again. As we were near Newark we took van to SMC. They wouldn't fix it under warranty! Charged us £70 and said all they could do was move the screws slightly so the old holes wouldn't show! They have both detached again now. Part of the issue is probably that the sliding door on our Fiat Ducato Globestar needs such a

I know the feeling about slamming the door. Make sure contacts are clean and maybe pad out the contacts a bit (they are on rear of door)

Yikes, I hope that doesn't mean that you are pulling the sliding door shut using the blind casing ... I always watch new visitors and make sure they know to pull by the door shut by the handle and rubber stopper. 👍

Open up the existing screw hole to allow a Rivnut to be inserted in the door casing and use a Torx Machine Head Screw with a Star Washer to firmly fix the blind to the door casing. Did this on both my door Remis Blinds and they haven't moved since.

I found that opening the window helped with not having to slam the door too hard. If all the windows/vents are closed it never catches first time.
My van is 17 years old.
Cheers, Dave

There are adjustments on the sliding hinges that can help too 👍

Right, thanks. Will pass this info to my husband!

Are there? Where? How? Only accessible by a mechanic?
There's no guarrantee that yours are identical, and some small amount of spannering may be required, but Shania Twain reckons it won't impress her much 😉
