Just out of curiosity, does anyone know why certain vans have the seatbelts fixed to the actual seat rather than the door pillar?

Ours has the seatbelt fitted to the seat, whereas my parents' van has theirs fitted to the door pillar

Both our vans are PVC autosleepers, ours is the 5.5m Dorset, theirs is the 6m Sussex

Ours was a nightmare to fit seat covers to due to this, had to bloomin hack them apart to fit!

Answers on postcards gratefully received

Having the searbelt attached to the seat makes swivelling them easier.
Ahhh....now I see!
That makes sense, thank you (although, ours isn't the easiest to swivel, but that's because I'm not that strong)

Mum and dad's don't swivel (sorry Alsatian ) so yes, can see that now

Thank you

I’m not sure but they may be Aguti seats, they usually have the belts on them….😎

I'm guessing that standard factory seats and reupholstered factory seats will use the reel in the a pillar. Not sure, but I think these can only have the arms on one side?

After market seats like Aguti have the belt fully integrated into the back.

Ours have got the 2 arm rests, both seats swivel (albeit, drivers one only half a turn due to the bathroom behind directly behind)
