Autotrail VLine 610
Hi Guys

Can anyone help me please before I send my van back to the Dealer!!!

I took delivery of my Autotrail V Line 610 Sport on Tuesday after travelling from Durham to Nottingham to collect it. I have all the documentation to say that a full Habitation check, electrical and gas check has been done. They did not show me the Truma unit working at handover. In fact it had a fault that needed the Technician. I was then packed off home!. No one mentioned that the INET box has to be used with the App and that manual operation of the Truma panel is now no longer possible (presumably unless I remove the INET box). I have set up the Truma INET App on my Samsung A32 and eventually managed to Pair the INET box. However it still won't work as the INET box needs an update. When I go to do this it tells me all the requirements like Internet signal, phone at full power etc. I have done all of that but the update will not operate as it won't allow me to select it to do the update. I have no heating or hot water. To my mind, there is no way the Dealer could have done their checks as they would have had to update the INET box and therefore I wouldn't be being asked to do it now.

Can anyone please help, I am furious at this situation and thought I'd worked out exactly what to do but the App won't update. I've never ever had this before with any App that I've ever used.

“I have not heard of the inet box stopping manual operation of the panel. Sounds ridiculous to me. Try removing the data cable from the inet box because that is how the box communicates with the heating system. The other end of the data cable can be connected either to the control panel or to the boiler, it doesn’t matter which because it is all part of the same network.

On my iPhone there are 2 Truma apps, the new one is called Truma iNet System and the old one is simply called Truma. I have avoided going to the new app because I have heard bad reports on it. If your Samsung phone also gives access to both apps perhaps you should try the other one.”

Thank you for reaching out to me. I'm very new to all of this and I'm only going off what I've been told and/or read. The Truma system won't work so I was thinking this is because I'd been told to use the App as it says APP on the main Truma CP screen. I'm going to see a Technician tomorrow, that my Dealer has agreed to pay for the Diagnostics. I'm hoping for an answer as at this point I'm giving up on the Campervan dream!

The iNet box does not stop the panel from working. I can use either.
Thank you, that gives me some hope that I'll get this sorted.

Don’t give up on the dream. We all get the odd problem but you have clearly been let down by a dealer who handed over your van without making sure everything was working properly. Hopefully the technician will get it all sorted out for you and you can get on with enjoying a great pastime.

It’s not the van’s fault, it’s the peripheries and the dealer.
You can’t just give up ‘on the dream’ because of something not working, nothing is insurmountable!

Control panel should work independently of the inet box. Can you post pictures of the manual control panel, are there any errors showing?

Makes me wonder if the data cable between the panel and the boiler has become damaged or disconnected. You also have to be careful to use a proper data cable, I have come across cheap cables that wont work because they are not fully wired i.e. when you look at the plug not all the pins are connected.
