First RV Purchase: Hymer 544 B SL

Hi Moto "Hymers",

I am thinking of getting my first RV, old model but in a good condition. Recently, I have found the Hymer 544 B SL, model 3L JTD FIAT, built in the year 2007 with only 69000 km clicks, in supposed very good esthetical/ technical condition in and out. A private sale.

Any advice about this vehicle? I am a single man in late 50's, would love to travel across the old continent, but not extensively, just for sightseeing trips and possible longer stops.

You will not be disappointed, I can more or less promise you that.

The 3 litre engine is great, no cam belt to even consider and good lugging power.

I had a newer 2012 B544 and it was brilliant… just do the usual checks for damp and everything else you can see, make sure everything works… enjoy..

Due diligence needed, beware of scams

I've a 2003 B544 and was offered a lot more than that for it last year, but it wasn't for sale

Run away, sounds too good to be true and stinks of a scam. You need to physically see the vehicle, the paperwork etc, and don’t do any money transfers until you have it rubber stamped.

Don’t ask me how I know ouch. Mine was in supposedly in Spain

I cannot believe that price is correct. The person is giving it away at that price. I would proceed with extreme caution (massive red flags)

If it were in the UK, it would be worth several times as much. It's almost certainly a scam.
