Just looking
Hi, about to start out first ever campervan adventure. Just a mini tour to break the van in.
From the North East visiting Clanan grange (cs) at thirsk, the Lodge (cs) at York; then on to Pontifract to visit relatives then Niffany farm (independent site)at Skipton then home.
Costs are reasonable at £10,£14;£24 per night.
Anyone been to these, your comments appreciated.
When we get back, thinking of joining BritStop as next trip will be at least 2 weeks and longer distance so a stop or 2 each way for nowt woudn't go wrong.
Britstops sound good in principle but wondering are they mainly pubs, farms, farm shops, and what else. Also what sort of locations are they, wouldn't want to be in a noisy or unsafe area.
As they are usually for 1 night only, are they useful just when "in transit".
For example, would love to visit Black country living museum but can't find a site where we can use public transport to get to it. Would prefer to leave van on site when going out and about.
Any ideas funsters.
Happy Jack.

Google pub stops, hundreds to choose from.(y)

Thanks, will do that and check out likely one's on Google maps.

Yes, BritStops are businesses offering a simple safe overnight stop. Some places may have additional offering outside the BritStops theme.
All sorts of areas.

We are on our second year with Britstops and we have only had positive experiences. When you join you get a book that you can flick through to see locations etc. We also double check locations on Google earth to confirm we have an interest in the area. In the north of England there are many reservoirs that you can use via Britstops, although these usually charge £10 but are well worth it because of their rural locations, security (locked in) and fishing? Our notable Britstops are Byland Abbey (Yorkshire)and Derwent reservoir. (Co Durham)

You probably won’t find anywhere near there to stay - it is in a very built-up area between Dudley and Wolverhampton. There are a few pubs on the A4123 which are on a bus route and might be worth asking.

Edit: you may be better going to the Blists Hill Museum near Ironbridge. It’s quite similar and there is a campsite, Severn Gorge, within walking distance.

Thanks everyone, will explore all you have said.
We do fancy Shropshire so Ironbridge is a distinct possibility.
Saw a documentary on the bridge a while back, very interesting.
We are getting off in next hour on our "tour".
Happy Jack.
