OK not a meet in the normal sense, just and good weekend. We did this a couple of years ago before the campsite was finished, even for an evening it was spectacular, with a bit of booze it will be awesome.

Capesthorne Hall, near Macclesfield.

You can book it all by phoning Capesthorne on 01625 861221.

I have just paid £80 for two nights camping (15th + 16th ) and the fireworks for 2.

If you fancy joining us get on the phone now while there are pitches.

Sorry, out of my hands, I doubt they'll move it.

What gives an extra boost to the fireworks is we sit on one side of the lake and the fireworks are on the other, so we get extra views.

The campsite is new, so I expect good facilities.

I will ask my wife but I doubt she would be prepared to travel North of Watford for £80,

Edit - just checked .We have to pay £80,

are they / you taking the piss?

What ? Are you one of these freeloaders ?

It's £15 per person for the fireworks - you don't have to camp.

It's £25 per night for a new campsite in a stately home. CC at Chatsworth, same time ( but full ) if £28 per night and you have to be members.

British fireworks championships in Plymouth are FREE

Ditto yours for me

So we have a cunning plan.

You go to Plymouth.

We'll got to Capesthorne. Where I will be 100 yards from the action so can easily carry the table chairs, smoked salmon and bubbly. How far will you be ?

Approx 1/4 mile across the water on my yacht, no need to carry anything as it will all be in the fridge

I've been to several of the 'Fireworks Proms', including at Capesthorne, and I will say that they are a fantastic night. :thumb:
Even if we let the side down with our plastic cooler box and lashings of beer, whilst the Hilldweller's next to us had taffeta ballgowns and a butler..!! :Eeek: :Rofl1: Not able to get to this one, but enjoy.

A yacht is but a floating caravan. However they don't seem to have such good corner steadies as caravans, bad design really .....

For £80 I would want to sleep in the master bedroom of the stately home AND have brekky served to me in bed by a scantily clad French serving wench.

I won't lower my quality of life for to watch a few noisy fireworks.

JJ

I hope so. Last time, also the first time, was very good. This time hopefully better, don't have to drive home after it. Bubbly is called for.

See you there !
