Up until last night we have been able to watch uk tv via our Firestick, using our uk vodafone sim and data.
But now it won,t allow us as we are outside the uk.
Any solutions please.

You need to download a VPN like VPN express into your firestixk. Google it, it is straight forward

Vodafone has found you

I used our fire stick for 2 periods of around 6 weeks in France and Spain this year on Vodafone no issues.
Have you checked if you have reached your data B limit for roaming?

Would a Roku stick have similar problems?

Yes. The problem we expect the OP is having is networking and access to geotagged media. Not the host device.
A Roku could be easier to setup workarounds as no sideloading of apps is needed.

Thanks for the feedback.
Will try to go the vpn route.

Your showing as having a Spanish flag are you trying to use the firestick with Spanish internet? If you are you will need to use a VPN.

No uk vodafone sim. Only used 17gb out of my 25gb allowance.

So you have data left now to eliminate the network or the fire stick, try a speed test on the phone followed by a short video stream on the phone.
If that is all ok then it’s likely either the connection phone to firestick , or stick to Amazon.

Well I've just tested it on the Roku device and Tesco PAYG mobile (£10 for 30GB) and it works!!! Thanks Kevenh.

Update using the Roku stick no problems here in Spain, linked to my phone on HotSpot. Watching Countdown on catchup 😉

I think my problem was a weak internet signal.
Even though it was good for browsing, emailing etc. The Firestick needed better signal, and now that we moved yesterday Firestick seems to be working fine, as before.

Thanks for all your input.
