Fire Safety Stick With Fun Discount - No Mess, 15 Year Life Fire Extinguisher - 15% DISCOUNT XMAS OFFER

I think I bought a couple but it is stuck on Payment screen so won’t know until I can contact them on Monday. Hate it when that happens, always on a weekend. 😳
Finally went through today. They sent an email overnight top say it was still in my cart so checked nothing had gone on my card and completed the check-out. Went through OK with the 15% discount.
Thanks Wombles

Are you ordering for delivery in UK? Your location is shown as France - if so that may be the problem?

Yes, delivery was to the UK. I was also using a VPN with a UK IP address when I tried to place the order.

Can't understand or think why it hasn't gone through as other orders have according to the posts.

Good news is thought the discount offer was until midnight last night but looks like it may be midnight tonight (or until some other time today) as trying a dummy order now it's currently still giving 15% discount (y)
Sunday evening - Just ordered another twin pack and still got the 15% discount.

Fire Sticks delivered at 8pm last night, I thought I had ordered two 50's but got the 50 & 100 twin pack at the higher price. Not very happy with the ordering system, just a bit confusing and failed the first time but I almost got what I wanted. In fact after considering it I think the 100 is better for the van.
I don't think much of their instructions or their videos so recommend you watch this WanderingBird video where she asks all the stupid questions that need to be asked and they actually very slowly show how to strike it which they do too quickly in their own video, that I have seen and they answer the specific motorhome questions.

Good to see that Practical Motorhome magazine have named the Fire Safety Stick as their best accessory for 2025 https://www.practicalmotorhome.com/...Rko_EuLKuufwhWEpFw_aem_M5eqEK_5zkjR7NAQVLozSw - the price for Funsters ordering direct from the website https://fire-safety-stick-4915.myshopify.com/discount/mhfun?redirect=/collections/all is much better than the Amazon prices that they link to especially with free delivery on orders over £100 too.

I was just about to order a fire stick but on researching, I found that it is not recommended for lithium battery's?

Bearing in mind th amount of lithium products in vans, ie bikes, chargers, phones etc and of course that most people are actualy running Lithium batteries, what is best? a fire stick or a designated lithium fire extinguisher.

Very good point - would still carry a Fire Safety Stick or two for all the reasons in the first post plus maybe, if there is one that is proven, a separate specialist one for the lithium hab batteries in the motorhome (if we had some) but looking online there is a lot of conflicting info about what is best for dealing with lithium battery fires - lots of types badged as for lithium & looks like that's now a new untested growth market for fire extinguishers so would welcome advice from any experts on here....

Some info about the use of Fire Safety Stick & lithium batteries here - have added the video at the point just before so you don't have to watch the whole thing!

Thanks for the heads up. Have one of these in the van, now bought one for home to replace the heavy and out of date fire extinguisher!!

Due to the interest in this I have asked the distributer if they may consider increasing the discount for a short period again for this Xmas - no promises but worth a try! Will update here with the outcome...

Thanks Wombles useful video that backs up my fears. Obviously one that I have probably more than most.

When my van was on fire, it was electrical and no matter what I used, it just kept re-ignighting. It's a terribly frightening experience and one of hopelessness,

I have purchased a designated Lithium fire extinguisher although, I am never sure of the promises made so gone with a fire blanket and a fire stick

As it may help others - which fire extinguisher did you choose for the lithium batteries? Hopefully with the Fire Safety Stick & a blanket too you will be as well covered as is possible. Your previous experience was awful & you sharing it on here did prompt us, & probably others here too, to update & add more fire safety measures in not just the motorhome but car & home too. Good to see that it didn't stop you motorhoming.

Very interesting!

I like how compact it is - perfect for a van.

I was at the Anticipate London show last week and there were various fire safety stands there.

It was the first time I'd seen Lithium extinguishers and got chatting to the people on the AVD stand. They were explaining that there is currently not much in the way of agreed standards for these extinguishers and that AVD did have the NTA 8133 which is the only one really out there at the moment. They also explained that AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion) is the ingredient that they add to (surprisingly to me) water and that they are generally sold under the Firechief brand. .

They also have an interesting guide to sizing your extinguisher to your battery:

So, my 12v 300Ah battery would be 3,600Wh and would require.... Oh, it would probably require me retiring to safety and watching it burn...

Official statement with regards to lithium battery fires for Fire Safety Stick:
"The Fire Safety Stick is not certified for lithium batteries.
It is likely to extinguish the very initial flame but due to thermal runaway, the fire will come back and therefore it should not be used. The Fire Safety Stick is likely to be OK with very small lithium batteries.
It is possible to purchase other small Lithium battery certified fire extinguishers, however, our view is that for such batteries from around the size of a leisure battery, e-bike or e-scooter is not to approach such a fire as they can very quickly escalate to a much larger fire, giving very toxic vapours and act very much like a roman candle, exploding dangerous particle, flames in all directions.
Always ensure that you never charge the batteries in a position likely to block your escape and that all batteries (and chargers) are purchased from legitimate sources
."

Good News the Fun discount has been increased to 15% for Xmas! Going through this link https://fire-safety-stick-4915.myshopify.com/collections/all on the distributers website the discount code mhfun should apply automatically (y) If your order is over £100 then it's free delivery too so maybe pal up with a friend for better value if you only want one.

Please also note the discount is on the Sticks including Multipacks but does not include the accessories such as the extra clips.
They do now have "Utility" sets listed with an extra clip & tamper tag - doing some dummy orders it works out a little (£2.20) cheaper to buy them individually from the extra listed accessories (even with those not discounted) than bundled with the Sticks although the work of attaching the tag has been done in the bundled offer. As the Sticks come with just one clip would recommend adding an extra one if using these to secure your Sticks in the motorhome or car but the one included should be enough for static locations like in the home.

The tamper tag looks a handy addition to prevent loss of the cap although drilling a couple of holes is required if buying as an add on accessory

This is what i bought.

Mainly for small lithium fires, laptop phones etc. Interesting reading about the bike battery's as they are the most likely source of fires. Mainly the ones that are played with of course.

Thank you haganap & fishplug - think this is an interesting & important subject so have started a separate new thread for this https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/fire-extinguishers-for-lithium-battery-fires.314046/ to raise awareness & hopefully get feedback from Funsters as know we have some fire safety experts on here (y)

Thanks Wombles - really appreciate you negotiating the discount.

I'm a very long way away from being an expert on fire safety, I'm just a curious person by nature so asked a lot of questions at the AVD stand and they were very helpful so I thought I'd share what I'd learned.

I do think it's a conversation in its own right and one which I haven't really seen discussed much so thank you also for starting the new thread. I shall watch and learn.

Thanks for this, ordered a 3 pack as wanted 2 for MH (one each end) and one for the house.
