Does anybody carry a fire pit with them ? When allowed to use and if so what ones can be recommended ? Preferably collapsible and light in weight ! .

Maybe look at foldable bbq.
I you don't use the cooking section, theycan make a handy firepit,
We use one of these as a bbq or firepit as needed
It's small but very handy to pack away

Had one of these for a while. Very compact.
Used on a few fun rallies.
Some other funsters have bought the same. Only a bit bigger than a pringles can when packed away. 👍

Bought one a couple of years ago great fire pit packs into a really small lightweight bag and doesn't burn the grass

Likewise. I was given one by our son and it’s an amazing bit of kit. We’ve carried a sack of logs (and a pruning saw to replenish it) ever since.

My daughter bought us one of those portable mesh ones for Christmas - we've not had chance to use it yet so I'm encouraged by the positive feedback. We used to use an old BBQ that we converted, but the new one is much more compact.

The best firepit is the one made by Snow Peak
However the price is eye-watering.

But I've used a couple of them, they are excellent, both of my siblings have one.
They fold flat and come with a carry bag
They can burn both wood and charcoal, you can also cook on them, and due to the inverted pyramid design it means they give out heat to the end and use far less fuel than a conventional flat based fire pit or BBQ

The Scouts have come up with a decent quality registered copy of the Snowpeak one at a third of the price.
I managed to get one for £50 with a Scout discount, as did several friends, so we now have three of them when we camp.

The copy made under licence by the Scouts is nearly as good.
(and quarter of the price)
Ah! now that makes a lot more sense at £50 looks like a good piece of kit

We carry some of these with us. Clean and tidy to carry, simple to light and last around an hour.

For a truly light, compact, Firepit contact thefirepitshop.co.uk in Bude Cornwall. They sell a Firepit / BBQ which comprises only of four sheets of metal which slot together to make a self standing unit. They are not displayed online so you will have to phone and enquire.
