Hi

After 2 weeks waiting we have picked up Dolly, our first motorhome. A very exciting and tiring weekend but it all seems have gone smoothly(-ish) - slight problem with satellite dish (mobilsat) but at least its now down albeit in slightly thew wrong position.

Everything seems to work ok and the solar panel is charging the batteries - we have filled up the gasit cylinders with LPG and cleaned and flushed out the water tanks/system with puriclean.

I couldn't seem to work out how to get a tv signal using the status aerial and I am not sure what direction I should be pointing it in? Not having TV was actually quite nice so its not a major issue at the moment.

The plan is to take Dolly off grid in the next couple of weeks to see if we can work everything without EHU (first site was had EHU and a CMC site).

Any other tips about what we should do first or learn about (apart from reading all the manuals and experimenting with buttons and switches)?

Thanks

Andy

It is quite likely the TV will not work, if a sat dish has been fitted that might have used the inputs and cables etc

Our 07 MH had analogue TV's still fitted that had no chance, it had a free view box under a locker, we have an aerial as well as sat dome but aerial no longer any use (y)

Of all the things not have a TV is the one I would pick (y) although I would also want to make it work :)

Have fun

Try out off grid on a ehu site , but not plugged in , so if things dont work out you have an alternative. The other thing is when you are loaded up , get it weighed , axle 1 and 2 and total .

drive out often so that you get used to handling....trip off to the sun...not that you have to go far at the moment......stop, set up, chairs out relax...enjoy:D

Just use it and try not to worry about all the things people will say you ought to

Have a look round and try to follow the leads and you might find a little box that you have to turn on for the receiver to work. Normally well hidden up high in a cupboard somewhere underneath the aerial. Make sure your 12v is on and push or twist a few buttons and see if a light comes on. Then try tuning in tv when the light is on. Worked for me !

Did you re tune the TV to your area , on some of those aireal ' s they a little light I up in the cupboard on the booster( WHICH NEEDS TO BE SWITCHED ON ) , it usually glows red when not pointing in correct direction , then glows green when in the correct direction.
Hope this helps
