Having watched to forum for a few years, we thought it as about time we became bona-fide members
.
We had an ex-military Defender Ambulance conversion for 7 years which was great, but was hard work on long journeys and beginning to show its age.
We took the plunge 2 years ago and ordered a new 4x4 mwb Sprinter panel van. When it finally arrived (Covid delays) we had this converted by Sporttec of Redditch into a very well equipped camper. We went this route as it gave us the opportunity to specify the exact interior layout/finish/spec we wanted and the chance to watch the build as it progressed (and tweek it as required). We now have a very capable campervan with a spec better (we believe)and cheaper than the equivalent 4x4 sprinter conversion offered by the likes of Hymer. We finally got the completed van in June this year and have managed a few trips out including the Outer Hebrides. We hope to be able to do some of Scandinavia next year. The dream would be to take it to Iceland and explore the interior
