Final ride in the sun, Spain.

We stopped for 2 days at Haro on our way back to Santander for our ferry crossing and found ourselves parked next to another Frankia owner who also had a KTM, they invited us to join them on the Sunday for a ride in the hills. What a route they found, at one stop we had an amazing encounter with a flock of vultures, that really was the icing on the cake for me as I love seeing them. It’s also great that the region puts up signs for bikers too.

When we left Spain for Portugal in April and on the way back in May we sought out all the natural parks on route, or made routes to take them. Loved the vultures and eagles and all the other winged predators, Izzy was kept on a lead and close! One road we took was 'neglected', there was a sign at the exit if a village to say it was so, however we had gone many kilometers to get to that point. So we gambled on it, after all it wasn't closed so glad we did because the next 20 odd kilometers were suitably slow but not dangerous, we passed just one car, a hire car, they probably also took comfort from the fact that they saw us
I think I set a precedent when I had previously driven back from Portugal taking the winding scenic route, Bob realised that I was in my happy place doing that, just he doesn't travel well as a passenger...
