Hi is it better to fill up before you get on the chunnel train or wait until you get to france. Ta

If you have a good exchange rate on whatever card you are using I think it’s cheaper out there at supermarkets…

I use Revolut or chase…😎

Its not always the case but most of the time its cheaper abroad, however I wonder if in view of some reported shortages it might be better to fill up abroad?

Last time we went over (just before Christmas) it was cheaper to fill up at the service station on the left as you come out of the tunnel. We use 1-2-3 Fuel app to find the best deals as it has live prices. Just looked now and it's Euro 1.80 for diesel at Carrefour Coquelles, Euro 1.75 at the Esso station in Coulogne on Route de Sant-Omer.
Forgot to say it's £1.62 at our local Tesco so €1.84.

Check out this website, I believe, but am willing to stand corrected, that french fuel stations have to publish their prices every time they change them. This is a french government website…..
https://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/ We used it regularly when in France last year and the prices posted were what we paid. Hope this helps!

Cheers! Russ

When we came back a few weeks ago it was cheaper in the uk. But some French supermarkets were slightly cheaper, but prices fluctuated in different areas.
