Hi all, the fiat satnav multimedia unit in my 21 plate ducato is a real pia. It’s steadily got worse & now it’s practically unusable. What happens is every time power is interrupted the screen freezes. So if you make a stop en route the screen stops at the point you turn off ignition, obviously you don’t realise this until you restart your journey and are on your way. It then won’t turn off & most functions won’t work. As it’s auto, sometimes when you set your destination then select drive, the screen stays on reverse camera because you obviously have to go through reverse to select drive. In any case the screen remains stuck for the remainder of the journey.
My question is has anyone else had similar issues & can anyone recommend a replacement unit?
Fiat don’t want to know as it’s out of warranty.

Have you tried to reset back to factory settings.Or tried to update the unit/software....

No I haven’t but I spoke with our local Fiat professional and Fiat uk, they both were unaware of this issue. I will give it a try anyway thanks

As others have said check for updates of firmware and Sat navigation software on the Web for the manufacturer site of the radio unit. Usually installed via a USB stick downloading from your computer off the Internet.

Sat nav on my 2019 unit proved to be pants. It knew nothing of traffic hold ups until long after I hit them. Now use copilot Sat navigation on phone which gets Internet updates for a subscription. Use of android sharing thing means phone can be mirrored onto the multimedia screen.

Thanks for the replies, I believe it to be a screen issue as the nav itself knows we are moving, i.e gives voice commands ,although the screen is stationary, I've tried it on apple car play & most of the time it just sticks on reversing camera when I select drive. I can get over it by putting in gear first then entering destination but if I have to reverse at all during the trip or stop for fuel etc it immediately freezes when ignition off or going through reverse.
