Anyone give me a brief explanation of the improvements of the 9 over the 8 cab.
Thanks.

Looks like a blinged up version of the 2006 cab but still same functions in the same place.

My understanding was Series 8 was the largest interior facelift since 2006. I can't find much about series 9, it might be the 2023 revision, which looks to be quite minor? My complete guess would be the changes are mostly related to resolving supply chain issues and making it so it shares more with the electric versions. Probably few differences to the driver.

I don't think any have made it off the line yet. It'll be a few months before a motorhome turns up with the new model year build.

Didn't know there was a Series 9, I have the Series 8, very similar to our previous X290 but blinged up a bit in ours. Digital dashboard, Digital A/C and a tablet for the media. The Engine is also new (Or the old Peugeot) as it's a 2.2 not the old 2.3. We have the 9 speed auto, and it's better on fuel than our old Apache even though it's a Tag axle

I thought the Series 9 was not due out until the end of the year.

EDIT:
A couple of van suppliers are saying they will have Series 9 Summer 2023, Motorhomes are normally about 6 months behind vans.

My experience is that the dealers don't really know enough to answer the questions anyway. Its easier to work it out yourself when you get it.

I am assuming it is series 8, which is OK for us

It’s frightening that some have very little idea of the product their selling

Yes the engine is new not a Peugeot but based on a 2016 Jeep.

Very few people are quite as interested in the technicalities of vans and capabilities as we are. I still find it annoying that I can't work out what size alternator is fitted (its hard to get to) but I guess 99% of van owners don't care.

If it's younger than let's say 15 years, it can be solved for almost any brand of chassis from VIN using appropriate software. Many brands even older than that. I can give it a go if you want, I have access to information for most.

Well, only had it a day but pretty impressed so far. Engine is still very tight (9 miles on the clock yesterday) but now with 70 miles including dreadful traffic through ‘Ull (presumably all trying to get out before the zombies get them) MPG is 31.5 on the trip, the 9 speed auto is seamless, the Apple car play works very well and the ride is surprisingly compliant and not at all harsh despite going to Louth and back on a ropey patched up A16. First trip away tomorrow and all day today spent sorting and packing stuff in. Whooshbang fun!

Ours is the series 8 auto the only thing I would like to do is fit the LED daylights which I have a set of but it comes up with an error saying check daytime running lights if someone can help that would be amazing mine is a 22 model and it has the dreaded SGW (secure gateway module) fitted and I bought all the cables and AlfaOBD software as I was told this will work but no it doesn’t even read the ecu so at a loss, we went to read the ecu at a mapping company but no luck

Apologies for reviving a 6 months old thread but has anyone now got more information about the Ducato Seies 9?

Just spotted your post and I can answer the query regarding replacement DRL/Parking lights with LEDs that don’t throw an error message.

I fitted these and, after cycling once through the main beams to clear the fault message, found they work perfectly - they’re very bright as well:

I think I can answer that one because I asked the question on the Stellantis stand at Caravan Salon. When the Ducato 8 was launched, all the driving aids and other safety systems that were announced were not abled to be supplied due to the well known issues with Covid and Ukraine. In the first quarter of 2023 (exact date unknown), Fiat were finally able to fit those specific options and to make a demarcation, decided to call it the Ducato 9. This is essentially an internal appellation within Fiat.

Thanks been trying to find the difference as our order says Series 9.

Well my Series 8 picked up new 3rd Dec 2022 has the full suite of driving aids and full led light and dashboard so there must be some blurring of exactly when the the changeover happened, maybe I have a series 8.5!

Thank you that is helpful and as a result I have looked more closely at the 2024 Malibu Van details and compared them with earlier years and the driving aids have moved on since 2023.

You may well have an 8.5, the 2023 details show many driving aids which seem to go up a level for 2024 with the addition of radar sensors alongside the video ones to add more active features for the Series 9. There are now more changes coming with a series 10 being talked about later this year which will have a new look front end and dash. The 10 also seems to be the end of the 9 speed auto having an 8 speed one instead.

Hi, Mines a '22 ducato, I have put led bulbs in the side/day run lights it looks much better but does create the error due to less current draw. very few of these bulbs are canbus error free. you get used to the error and it doesn't bother me now. I use Mutiecuscan and the SGW doesn't show up in the module listing and I can access read/write to all ecu's. so the SGW is not fitted to my vehicle.

Fit ballast resistor to them, that will stop the error.
