Hello,
‘We have developed a leak in our Dethleffs Alpa motorhome cab, its on a Fiat Ductao base.
Has anyone had a similar issue & does anyone have any advice on a solution please.
The van is a 2013 model.
Many thanks
Neil.

Depends if you want to try to fix it yourself. If you don’t and want it repaired professionally I would recommend Crossleys in Leyland as you aren’t too far away. Just be aware that they don’t appear to rush, even a damp check can take a week !
They found a very small ingress on our roof and sorted, we hadn’t even seen it.

Although you have found where the water is collecting, I suspect that it is likely the overbed window seals assuming there is no damage to the roof structure.
Check them first as doesn’t need specific tools if water is passing a displaced seal.
Edit to say that the joint above the windscreen doesn’t look good at all

That's where the water has tracked to but could be any of these seems and at the front some gaps look uneven?

Could be entering anywhere marked in red..... ????? Not meant to panic you but the weak spot could be a distance away from where the nasty stain appears.

A bit more exploration above the windscreen rusty joint line might be worthwhile, and ease the repair bill.

Not saying this is the cause, but the joint inline with the window on the front looks very poor and open to the elements. Doesn’t look likes it’s clipped in place correctly. It’s above the water mark and certainly worthy of investigation.

Like others, I would suggest that the leak comes from much higher and the water is accumulating where the original cab meets the new bodywork.

It's a bugger to trace, wait until warmer weather (if you can) and use stained water with a few drops of shampoo, not washing up liquid as it contains salt.
Good luck 🤞

When did you first notice the staining?
How long after the last time you used it did it appear?
Had you driven it in rain shortly before you noticed the stain?
Is the headliner damp now?

We've got some weather coming in, get some newspaper up in the base of that overhang, after rain you'll be more likely to see/trace any water ingress.

Cheers
Red.

I would suspect the little window in the over cab on the RH. Look carefully at the bottom of the window frame on the inside. The screws holding the outer frame to the inner frame come loose and allows water to seep in. If it is leaking, you just need to go around and tighten all the screws. Worst case is remove and reseal. They are not hard to remove.
Fingers crossed that’s all it is. Good luck. PaulandChrissy

Just been looking closer at your pictures. If the window isn’t the problem, remove all the screws on the front cap one by one and pump sealer into the screw holes. Also smear sealer on the screw threads and screw them back in. Exposed screws are very common sources of leaks.
Good luck again. PaulandChrissy

It may be away from the site of the water pooling - the side window plastic frame looks to be cracked at the top front, which may be letting water in when driving in the rain?

Thats the hinge joint I think, not a crack.
