A couple of weeks ago our 2011 3.0l Fiat Ducato had a major service inc gearbox oil change. When I collected it there was a couple of dash warning lights on, so they plugged their machine in and attempted to clear the lights without success. So I left it with them, the next morning apparently a couple more warning lights were on, no remedy was found so they then removed the dash assembly and sent it off for repairs. It will soon be back, but is this display failure a coincidence, or could something done in routine servicing ( perhaps incorrectly) have damaged the display?
I have used this garage for nine years without issue, so just after advice if I get invoiced for the repairs.

there was an issue around the 2010 - 2013 time of warning lights both coming on and showing dim ( staying on ) without any faults. i had that on our 2012 and i sent the dash console off for repair , all good when i refitted and been right ever since.

Can't imagine almost any repair/maintenance which could damage the instrument cluster so most likely it just happened.

We once had cantrememberwhatcar for something simple, maybe brake pads or something, and the engine timing 'broke' when the customer started the car to leave.

I had my 2013 Fiat cluster repaired twice, once for the warning lights staying on problem and the 2nd the LCD screen went pear shaped and had to have a new one fitted. Both repairs carried out by Cartronix.

My 2013 Ducato had some dim lights (including airbag) when cruise control was enabled (as in turned on, not being used). I was told it was a common issue.

I had this problem with my 2018 Ducto. I had it serviced (at the Fiat service centre) and then started getting an intermittent warning light.
It was the non-specific warning light that could just be a faulty bulb. The light only came on (or didn't come on) when I started the engine. It would never come on or go off part way through a journey. Twice I took the vehicle back and both times the diagnostic equipment found nothing and the warning light was turned off electronically. In both instance the intermittent warning light re-appeared. I wondered whether it was something really simple like a fluid level being slightly different or a cap being replaced to slightly different tightness. I thought it might rectify itself at the next service when things were changed and caps etc re-tightened. I can't confirm that as I sold the van to a dealer before the next service.

The dash light cluster issue is a known problem on Ducatos we had a 2015 one that failed under warranty and was replaced😊

Normally the dash cluster circuit board fails when you try and reset the service light's etc. So yes the mechanic most probably caused it to fail, but would have sooner or later. Spose he only doing his job at the end of the day.
Maybe why a lot don't actually bother trying to reset them, as know this is a possibility and don't want to get the blame 🙈
