Has anyone Been able to stop this thing dripping water into the engine compartment. It's on the offside and gives access to the coolant top up below. I ion, qgine it isn't supposed to leak since if you take the cover off there is a rubber seal upon which cit sits when replaced, the three turnbuckles dont seem to be able to be tightened sufficiently to make that seal watertight.

On older vans many people added a hole, a suitable conical fitting like a sealant nozzle and a length of pipe to take water to the ground

On iandsm's original post at the top left corner you can just see the window seal onto the scuttle looks a bit tatty ..probably water leaking down the windscreen and behind the scuttle.

I have the 2021 fiat ducato and the windscreen / scuttle seal was leaking, I resealed ..stuffing it with clear sealant ..and near
eliminated 98% of the water into the engine.

However I still had to silcone grease the turnplugs shown in posters pictures and put rubber cycle tubing round the joint for the main scuttle drain.

If water has been getting in, then any rust will be hidden so remove the big plastic engine cover and spray in the engine trough all around the injectors with ACF-50 Anti Corrosion lubricant/water displacent - not WD40 !

Rust around the injectors will cause expensive damage to the seals.

Wouldn't have thought ACF 50 would be suitable for the top of an engine.

Oh yes it is ..look behind you, especially recommended by experienced motorbikers and exactly suited to rusted injectors, millions of good reviews backed by mechanics.

Instant results, the minute you spray it it shines up the metal adding protection from further water ingress.

It also claims to remove light rusting.

I think I know what you are talking about. But there is no water coming from there. It is from the scuttle itself water runs along and as it passes the bottom on the cover it leaks on through the cover.

Have you taken the plastic cover off the engine to see if there is rust around the injectors, I hope not , but easy to check

Yes, no rust around injectors. The water does t go in that direction. It’s on the extreme offside dripping onto the windscreen washer motor. I have made a plastic cover for that so any further drips will run off down the inner wing.

Can I ask is it safe to use copper grease (already have some) to protect the injectors?
