Pretty sure it won't be 5 years as according to the 'hive' batteries don't last that long!

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
The battery will have its own warranty.
I've just fitted a Yuasa to my car - 5 year warranty.

Absolute beginners.
I have just replaced a 5.5 year old original starter battery as although it was still showing good voltage the amps were dropping worryingly low on cranking the van into life. I replaced it with Yuasa 5000 series with a 5 year warranty. £106.98 off EBay delivered.
100AH. 900 CCA. Sevel original wet, maintained battery was 95AH 680 CCA, so loads more cold starting power, and no maintenance.
Mike.

3 years 30,000 miles UK and Europe.. Campsites and off Grid.
I thought it was only a 36 month warrantry?

I too am confused - actually the standard Fiat warranty is 24 months not 36. (36 in Europe I believe)

Al n Val Is the 5 year the one you can pay extra for within the first 14 days of ownership?

The standard fiat warranty from new I was under the impression it was 36 months?

I maybe should have been clearer, I paid at time of purchase for the Fiat extra warranty giving me 5 years total

TBH i’m not convinced it is the battery so it’s a process of elimination

Just another dealer denial dilemma 😟

Thanks, I've just read that this can be chosen when the vehicle is new. Thanks for explaining 😃 I've replaced a couple of batteries on different cars over the last couple of years and have always used Alpha batteries online get delivered the very next day great service.

Can't help with the Fiat warranty but my experience of warranty's on replacement batteries both leisure and starter is poor.
I believe the typical 4 year warranty only pays a small percentage of the purchase cost, reducing as the battery ages. Also difficulty in proving no misuse or excessive discharge ect'
I was talking to a Tayna batteries last time I wanted to replace a pair of duff leisure batteries, I had a 12 month old 110 amp battery, charged and virtually unused, I asked if they could match it up. They said no as pairing my 12 month old one with a new one would invalidate the warranty.

Cheers Colin

Battery Warranties only cover manufacturing faults and is very difficult to prove, as a battery can be easily abused i.e. allowed to go flat, over charged with too high a voltage etc. This isn't covered under the warranty. Screenshot from the Yuasa Website.

So a result
after having a meeting this morning with the service manager at my dealer I was told the battery was tested in June 22 and should have been replaced then

They apologised and have just replaced it now as i’m typing this

👍👍👍

just all the other jobs now to plough through 😟
