Hi

We have 2 folding ebikes (Wisper 605SE folding step-through) which until now we have carried simply wedged up against the forward wall of the garage, held in place by the bikes' prop stands and by storage boxes. Although they're folders, we've found it easier to store them unfolded. But things tend to get tangled round each other, and packing and unpacking is enough of a hassle that we generally only get them out if we're staying somewhere a few days.

As a solution I've been looking at the Fiamma Garage Slide Pro, and would greatly welcome any feedback on the following points:
1. Bearing in mind the rack slides out of the garage to load and this will create quite a force, how robust is the mechanism and particularly the channel for the bike wheels? We've had Fiamma Carry-Bikes on past vans and found the channels flimsy and distorted easily - I assume (particularly at the cost!) this model is more substantial? Our ebikes are 23kg each, so just within the 50kg maximum load.
2. The centre support bar seems to be attached in a fixed position - does anyone have experience of attaching a step-through bike to it?
3. The assembly instructions specify that it should be mounted absolutely centrally within the garage space, which seems to me to reduce the flexibility to use the garage for other storage. Anyone know if this is critical, and what the reason is? Has anyone successfully fitted it towards the front of the garage and more to one side?

Any advice gladly received!

Not sure about the Fiamma sliding rack but I have the Thule one a bit more money but a great bit of kit.

They do look amazing - and also more flexible. But having seen the price I’ve had to sit down!

They are not cheap I saved the fitting costs by doing it myself.
makes taking my 2 ebikes off a breeze with the added bonus I have two large garage doors so getting to my chairs and other bits and bobs is easy it just pushes through.

We also have a pair of Wisper e-bikes, one is a 806SE folding, the other a 705SE step through. on our previous MH (Adria Matrix) I fitted a Thule G2 garage bike rack in the garage (see attachments) travelled 000's miles without any issues. I must admit it was a bit of a pain getting the bikes in and out. But that was probably down to the amount of other stuff we carried in the garage.

Works well.

Centre bar can be cumbersome as it always seems to be in the wrong place for one bike.

Only reason I can think why it needs to be central is to give max clearance for both handle bar but if the handle bars can be folded then you could offset it.

It's expensive but each part appears bespoke (apart from screws and bolts) and volumes will be relatively low so costs will be high.

Make sure the two rails are absolutely parallel or it won't slide.

Busy fitting mine now. The Thule veloslide.

Looked at one at the weekend, just check there’s enough height access for the bike as these slide in/out racks add about 50-75mm more vs the wheels on the garage flooring.
