We're planning to attend the Italian Grand Prix in early September with our campervan. We've been to about a dozen F1 GPs, but this is our first time doing it in a campervan. Normally, we book 2-week trips by airplane, avoiding higher ticket prices, and book hotels and car hire well in advance.
As newbies, are we crazy to consider such a long trip? We live in Oxfordshire and have traveled all over Europe via the Eurotunnel, but always by car with pre-booked hotels along the way.
We know we need to take this trip more leisurely, and we're looking forward to it. We've already contacted local sites near the circuit and are working out the Eurotunnel crossing and pitches en route.
Security is a major concern, so we've added a tracker, steering wheel lock, and other security measures to the van. We've also upgraded the leisure battery and added other items based on MHF forum advice.
While we have some small trips planned, we wonder if this is too ambitious for our first year. And still working out whether e-scooters would be a wise addition or not.
Interested in your feedback—are we bonkers or not?
