F1 Belgium GP

I bought tickets for this including the on site camping a couple of months ago. First time there for my son and I so will watch this thread with interest.
My wife gave us both big umbrellas for Christmas to start our collection of gear 🥺

Umbrellas a waste of time. The regulars take ground sheets, and as soon as the rain comes around the valley, out come the telescopic poles. If you are sat behind them you lose your view.
When it rains in Spa, you will get a soaking. Great circuit to watch the race without needing the expense of a grandstand. Get your self fit for the hill climb. Find some really light weight chairs to take with you. Remember to check you have a towing eye if taking motorhome.

Santa bought me tickets to the GP. Has anyone camped there or nearby? Any and all hints and tips most welcome.
Go prepared, best thing to take is a WW2 large American Poncho and lightweight chair.

Mine is rectangular, about 6'x 4' with the head hood in the middle.
When weathers dry, one can use it on the grass as a groundsheet.
When the weathers wet (and it can be very at Spa) sit in your chair and put it over your head.

You'll not win any modelling jobs but you'll stay dry.

Enjoy the race, one of the best track going!

We used one of the motorhome pitches on 'intentsgp' last time. One of these large pre set up camp site fields but with some motohome pitches. All was good, but the generator providing ehu was noisey, then again, all sites at Spa are noisey 24 hours. This one was a 30 minute walk into the gate at eau rouge, there is so much traffic, walking is the best option. Best to look to see where you either have grandstand tickets for or where you intend to put yourselves and look at the sites accordingly. Useful in the backpack is a memory foam cushion. Over the years we have been baked and drenched, ripped off and offered transfers in and out by helicopter by one of the teams. The police run rolling road blocks to get vehicles away on race day, that's when you remember why you have the van.
