Does anyone know of an exhaust system fabricator in or near Birmingham who has a hoist or inspection pit? I'm trying to get the silencer back box replaced but my system is a LHD one with the tailpipe exiting on the nearside. Plenty of options for cars and would consider a stainless system. Details, 2009 Laika 7 metres long, plated at 4 tons, 3.0 Litre engine on Al-Ko heavy chassis.
Thanks

Our local hgv garage took the job of replacing our power steering pipe on our LHD Rapido (2011 A class). Obviously I thought they would have had one made up, being LHD.
Turns out they ordered it from Fiat direct in Turin.. it arrived 3 days later and cost about £50 including postage. Just saying it might be an idea to get a genuine exhaust.

AFAIK there are only two exhausts for all 3.0 engines , left exit or right exit. Everything upto the box is the same but the tailpipe from the box is obviously the different bit. You shouldn't need any fabrication doing except possibly extending the tailpipe with a bit of sleeving to reach beyond the bodywork

We know a company in Bristol that would do a stainless steel one. A mile or so from Quackers campsite. Infinity Exhausts.

We had a stainless steel one supplied and fitted made for our Cube, from the catalytic converter back, in a couple of hours for £350.

Cliff said they offered a brilliant service.

Recently bought a genuine Fiat silencer for X250 (LHD) here in France €530 delivered, to main agent.
Only went genuine after being unable to find a pattern unit that actually fitted.

I changed mine (albeit RHD) by just wriggling underneath, has yours not got much ground clearance?
Most jobs done by others (cam belt change and clutch change done by workshops that need to hoist the vehicle just take the weight on a jack and remove a wheel (using an axle stand for safety)

Hi Dave, had a chat with local repair shop and they reckon they can fit it by chopping the tailpipe and fitting the original tailpipe. Ordered today.
Thanks, Mike

Finally got it done yesterday, chopped the tailpipe off the supplied silencer and fitted the original tailpipe back on. So Coastal Motorhomes are a good source of silencers for RHD continental Ducato based Motorhomes with LHD exhaust systems!!!
Thanks Dave
