I couldn’t think of anything worse tbh, dust ash and uneven heat

not on my watch and I’ve grown up with coal, coke and log burners

Not sure I'd want one in a van or boat.

I also agree I'd not want coke or coal fired.
But I love the log burner for cold wet afternoons, fire it up, it looks lovely, and it will heat the entire house.
