Every time we go away..

If you can get it really dry and free of soap residue then bathroom silicone will work fine. BUT (big BUT!) the crack will continue to grow because of flexing so it will need a proper fix later.

Drill about a 4mm hole at the very end of the crack to stop it spreading. V groove the crack and repair with epoxy. Paint with bath enamal or similar.

I always carry loads of tools, heavy but been worth it in the past.
But do you have the tool you need? I am always worried that I have left something at home that I will need, like a trolley jack or torx driver.

Ah! Those happy hours under the MH in Morocco removing the water tank to fix the pick up pipe which had fallen to the bottom of the tank. Now Morocco was not the place to be without the water system working as on board facilities were essential - if you know what I mean! Whilst under there, grovelling around in the sand, I removed the van rear steadies as they kept grounding on steep ramps and were getting more and more mangled and useless. I'm so glad I carried a full tool set. My "todo" list is quite short at the moment thank goodness, as my grovelling abilities are now very limited!

I agree. That's a proper fix. What I was proposing is a temporary, whilst on holiday, job which will get you by till you get home where you can do as you suggest.
