Parked up in the Centre Ville of Laval in the Loire valley today to get some lunch.
Imagine my face when I looked up and saw this when I stepped out.????😱😱😱😱😱
Only owned the Chuggabug for two years and brain still goes to sleep about the fact that she is 9ft 10 inches tall!!!
Now that was a close one…..imagine the damage etc…..lesson learned!!!
Anyway a few pics of the scenery from where I am parked up and what I am up to….a couple of skydives today at L’Ecole de Parachutisme Laval….showing off? Course so….I’m 65 and entitled….😂😂😂😂😂

On a previous van, I quickly pulled into a space outside a shop, only to hear what sounded like a tyre touch the curb. Thought nothing of it till I came back out and saw that the exaggerated camber of the road meant the van was leaning towards the curb. The fiamma awning box was just touching an aluminium sign on a lamp post. I was close enough it touched but took no paint off. Now that was close!

Driving to Spain winter before last... south of France major motorway intersection works....two hgvs crawling through yellow marked lanes in 1 & 2 with 80 kmh speed restriction... me tired and impatient decide overtake cautiously in lane 3 at little more speed than them both in the narrow lanes then hgv in lane 2 sways in the narrow lanes towards me I steer left ever so slightly and .....thump.thump.thump.thump.thump..... nearly shit myself I can tell you. First opportunity I can I stop fearing I had ripped the rear of the van off on the Armco barrier. No...thank God but the rivets in the barrier had left 2 deep gouges in the plastic wheel arch barely sticking out 2 inches more than the side of my van. So close to trashing the van but more importantly the wife and I.
Lessons learnt...

A few years ago, I wasn't so lucky in Spain when I caught a low hanging branch... :(

Gutted at the time!

But it didn't look quite so bad after some quick temporary running repairs with silver gaffa tape... ;)

Even the awning light still worked. (y)

Not as bad as when we had our first 'proper' overcab MH, we parked up having noted the tree branch in front about a foot away so knew that we needed to reverse out on our return ... Of course hubby forgot and drove straight into it! 😳 Fortunately the damage was minor but could have been a lot worse if he'd set off like Stirling Moss!
