Eurotunnel

We started using it when we got the dog wee bit more expensive but so easy. I usually have a wee lie down for half an hour in my bed.. hopefully be using it this year again..

I am claustrophobic. Dont lock doors or use a lift unless I absolutely have to. I didnt use the tunnel for years because of my phobia. I got a tunnel crossing included in a Disneyland package. It was fine coukdnt believe we were on a train. It is my preferred method of travelling.

Did it take long to actually go once you were on it? Can you feel your moving ?
thanks everybody great replies

Once on, the length of time to get moving depends how early on you load, average 15 mins I would say.
You don't feel the train start moving, usually taken by surprise, as others have said, moved to the back to lie down with a book or something to eat. Once going a bit faster, you can feel the motion of the carriages a little, a sort of gentle rocking because the rolling stock getting a little older these days.
If you do get out of your vehicle, I have done so with coaches of students, it is easier to stand around and walk than in a normal train, which I find quite hard to walk steadily along, so there must be less rocking than a normal train.

Yesterday i genuinely didnt notice the wife telling me we were off. Couple of minutes later i caught a shadow through the window and told her we were moving and i got berated for not listening to her earlier

You have one of the cab windows open/part open as instructed, stops your ears popping etc, just have to remember to shut it when you get off if it's heaving down with rain/blowing a hoolie. At the end, there's a bit that rattles under you - we've always said it must be when you go over the cattle grid - to stop the ingress of any stray animals obviously.
