BBC news says Eurotunnel suspended due to last minute strike today.

Hope doesn't inconvenience functors

I’m supposed to be on ET tomorrow afternoon.

I think, but not positive, that this is Eurostar and not eurotunnel

Eurostar customers advised to postpone tickets

And here's another quick line on the current situation for those trying to cross the English Channel.
Eurostar is now advising all customers with travel booked for today (21 December) to postpone their ticket bookings.
In a post on X, it says more updates will follow. It earlier said the issues were due to a "last-minute strike" by Eurotunnel workers, who manage the tunnel's infrastructure.

BBC says Leshuttle also affected

Family stuck in Amsterdam, flight cancelled until Sunday. Found alternative to another airport and booked (at some expense), 20 minutes later delayed 4 hours to 1700 potentially cancelled (still waiting). Thought get train (attached). Now stuck waiting to see if flight will go at 1800.

Is that because of incoming storm BA have revised schedules

15.30, kids out of school, last day of term.
Next door neighbours on their way to the tunnel by car.
15.45. Kids and luggage all loaded when text arrives to say tunnel is closed
Now heading for Dover and the ferries and see what happens.

There should be a certain amount of interest in UK Government circles given the strategic location of the tunnel and that for 60,000,000 people it's the only direct link to the mainland, that we should have direct control so that a handful of non-resident workers can not hold an entire country to ransom.
In the event of a labour relations issue the tunnel, as far as Frethun, could be run at immediate notice by the UK.

It's not the same for the ports, as ships can go to other ports if needed.

It was unti Humberside via KLM, it was windy here till 1pm then dackered off.
EasyJet delayed into Gatwick. Now unlikely to make last train if they even land by then.
Night in London, land back tomorrow. Cost almost as much for this last leg as the rest of the holiday!

Can we not invade the warmer parts down South😎😎
We prefer to use the term 'liberate'

There is that flat bit south of Bordeaux to the Spanish border that was was many centuries, English.
