When we are coming back from Ieper, head north (northwest-ish) on the N8, towards Veurne. Stay on the N8 to bypass the town, then at the roundabout that crosses the N396, you will find a Carrefour Hypermarket. Good selection and slightly better prices than any of them right next to Calais.

Agreed. Carrefour in Cite de Europe in Calais has huge selection. There own brand called Auguste Florent is good value version of all major French wine styles

Don’t go anywhere near Cite de Europe in Calais, you will either/both get the Gendarme moving you on or visitors!

Gendarmes will only move you on when its closed in the evening and have not seen any visitors there for a number of years now.

Have stopped there multiple times this and last year without any concerns.

Likewise, we always use cite Europe, never seen any bother, stayed the night as well before it was stopped.

As said go to the supermarkets and look at the bins that are nearly empty, that will be the good stuff.

Pidou at Transmarck is a store we use regularly (the Calais store has closed). Otherwise we buy from supermarkets.

We used to get loads of bargains at cite europe. They usually have several offers on and it's a huge wine section.

That one is dodgy these days my mate had migrants trying to get in his van, his wife was in it at the time.

Auchan at Dieppe is good also the Super U at Pont de l'Arche just south of Rouen is good.
