Eurotunnel Calais today

When you think about it if the pet check-in is in UK territory then if you are transiting France its ok and you don't need to quarantine on your return but if you are leaving France about to self quarantine you didn't ought to meet anyone in UK territory so ought not to enter the pet check-in!!!!!!!
Its all a bit bonkers isn't it.
You don’t have any checks leaving UK for pets😊

I accept we have to quarantine on our return we cut ourbreak short by a week to minimise the impact on my work schedule. The bonkers bit is my daughter who stayed at home can come and go as she pleases.

So when would you have set the cutoff so have not to have been "bonkers" ?? and yes you do have to quarantine, did you not understand that part ??

There is no need to be so aggressive.

It is bonkers that my behaviour can be to isolate from the cut off in France in my vehicle (within the transit regulations) but just because I'm setting off from France rather than Germany , I must isolate. It is clearly different if you have to mingle in order to get home, i.e. on a ferry, or through an airport or out of a hotel. The person setting off from Germany may well be in France for the cut off too driving but they are OK.

If common sense applies to Mr Cummings it's no wonder that some of us feel a bit miffed at these arbitary nonsensical rules. Common sense tells me that the transit rules ought to apply equally to me.

And yes, I am abiding by the Q14 even though strictly speaking I think that the Transit rules would apply if tested.

Are you sure about that I believe if you are in quarantine unless she has separate facilities etc she is as well as you could possibly have contaminated her🤔

yes she's right. The whole q14 is a complete farce.

So how you you work that one out when you state on another thread that "I was at the Amboise campsite last week, it is very pleasant, a 10 min walk to town and the chateau." ?

that was before the 4 am cut off, in fact it was the previous week!

What I am saying is that from the 4am cut off I was transiting in a private vehicle and not mingling. At the point of the 4am cut off I was in the MH. I was aware of the 4am cut off and didn't leave the van to mingle from that point on until I got back to the UK. I travelled on the tunnel.

Had I left Germany that night and driven back through France after the cut off then I would clearly be covered by the transit rules. I did not mingle in France from 4am and have a toilet/ cooking faciliites in the van I only left the van to let the dog do a wee (allowed if travelling from Germany or Italy).

I'd like to know why I am subject to a Q14 when someone driving a motorhome through France from 4am that morning to get back who also did not mingle is not.

I meant on the way into the UK . The pet check-in in France returning to the UK would potentially be a problem if you're transmitting France from Germany trying to avoid q. They say it's ok as its officially part of the UK but as I say they can't really have it both ways!

Yes as has been pointed out either she has to keep completely away from you,in reality you are meant to stay in a seperate room & food left outside , seperate washing facilities, etc; etc. If it cannot be complied with best to stay in the van.

actually that only apples to people living with people showing symptoms, not to people doing the Q14 after being abroad.

So people living with people Q14 are exempt.

Only way they'd get in mine.
You do know that ppe stands for personal protective equipment don’t you? That means it’s to protect the wearer. So what difference does it make to you whether border force personnel are wearing it or not?
