Our Hymer is euro 6, it has no stop/start and no Adblue. But our VW Caddy has both.
Why the difference?

Ive wondered this.
Our Hymer is euro 6, no adblue, no stop start and its 2014. Strange

There are two ways to achieve euro 6c tested under WLTP certification the more expensive to produce exhaust gas resurculation as used by Hyundai,Kia and Fiat on earlier model Ducato's or the cheaper and more prone to issues adblu system, unfortunately in order to reach the later euro6d RDE test criteria Fiat went over to adblu, probably due to cost.

Why the difference?
Fiat achieved the Euro 6 standard by using other methods (EGR) and using loop holes in the testing rules. When more meaningful testing was introduced in 2019 they had to use AdBlue and stop start to get to Euro 6. The Euro 6 standard didn’t change but the tests manufacturers had to comply with made them do the job properly.

I know the stop start the VW causes problems.
We have stop start on our Audi which I would have thought was the same as on the VW. After nearly 10 years we are still on the original battery and have had no problems whatsoever.
