Help settle a question and hopefully might find someone in the same situation.
I am a UK passport holder, therefore I can leave the UK and enter the EU for 90 days etc etc.
However, I am also quite unique. Because I am also Portuguese and although I don't have a "Portuguese passport" I do have a Portuguese citizen card issued by the Portuguese. I therefore share "dual nationality". I can get a Portuguese passport by simply doing the paperwork which isn't an issue, but is there a need?
The way I read the rules, I can travel freely in the Schengen zone with just my National ID card and don't actually need a passport. A passport is no more than a travel document and I have a UK one anyway for exiting the EU.
Although of course, the other question would be can my little English rose stay with me using just our marriage certificate?
