Hi 👋🏻

We are hopefully off to France 🇫🇷 and Spain 🇪🇸 for a few weeks and we are newbies. ….. can I ask what’s the best date SIM card to use to use in our mobile dongle ?

Many thanks 😊

if you want more than 12-15gb then just buy a local sim wherever you are 👍

There’s loads of threads about this tbh 😉

If you want to watch UK tv you may need a UK sim or VPN. We could watch Prime with a Spanish sim earlier this year. Popit provided good coverage, but you will need to use data before and after your trip if you want to cancel afterwards.

If you’re planning on using data to access UK TV and don’t fancy using a VPN (virtual private network) you’ll probably want to stick with a UK network. Various options are available - we’ve been happy with IQGo - https://helloiq.co.uk - £20 a year to keep number open etc, then £20 a month for 100GB, and if you use up the data sooner you just buy another 100 GB. Other options may be cheaper, but we like the flexibility.

Are the speeds capped at all on IQ go? Thanks

Really likes the look of that. Wish I had taken that option before our France trip. Will get this for next time. Thanks for the link.

I don’t think so - although we don’t have a 5G mifi. We do get occasional brief buffering on Firestick, but generally where the signal is weak. We don’t have an exterior aerial.
